Thank you all so SOOO much for your letters and packages (Mom, Rosanna, and Alysha!)! It means so much to hear what's going on in everyone's lives!
The MTC is awesome! I leave early monday morning, crazy huh! I will only have been here for 2 and a half weeks! I feel unprepared, but excited at the same time. I can't believe how fast it's come and gone! So no one email me back this time cuz i won't be checking it again.
Thank you Grandma Froerer for your great letter and for the stamps!! They took me back to you giving me a roll of quarters for...well, you know why! :)

It was great to hear from Lindsay, thank you so much for those quotes! I wrote some of them down real quick, and I'm going to look for them in the bookstore now. :) And congrats to Peter on your exams, or whatever those were that you rocked on!! So where are you going to practice, or move to after you graduate? I can't believe you are actually going to be a real live dentist soon! I'm praying for you guys to know...
The only family I haven't heard from is Sally and Joe...are you guys alive? How are you? How's school and work and adoption stuff? I'm praying for you guys too about that. I love you guys!
So the gospel and missionary work is amazing! This really is the true church of Jesus Christ, exactly the same one as was on the earth when He was here! And the field really is white, and there really are so many people out there, so ready to here the truth of the gospel! One of my favorite things to do here is take calls at the Referral Center--people call in for a free movie (Lamb of God, Finding Faith in Christ, etc) after seeing a commercial about it or a pass-along card, and they want to learn more about Christ, or it just looked really good, and we get to get their info down to send them it, and then testify about Christ and the gospel and about how we know it's all true. And so many people are so open to it, and they let us send the missionaries and/or a free BOM too sometimes! It's so awesome! People are so ready!!
Camille, yes, playing volleyball is pretty fun during gym. A lot of times though, the 4 of us sisters in our district will just do low key stuff cuz we're so tired. But it is really nice to have gym to break up our day and to be able to exercise if we so choose... :)
Amie and Cher--I'm writing you today, and I love you! I just wanted you to know...letters are coming! ;)
Dad, yeah, I'll find that quote from the first day, I'll include it in a letter. I'm glad you asked about it. And the porch sounds like it's coming great! The pictures you sent of it (and Camille, the ones of Christian) I can't open. The computer here won't let me. Bummer.
Also, many of you have asked--I don't know about emailing in the field, I'm pretty sure i'll get to though, but I'll let you all know, or you'll get an email I'm sure. But yeah, don't respond to this one.
So another thing I love here are our teachers. We got awesome teachers! Bro. Clement and Sis. Orchard, and they are both amazing! Sis. Orchard actually reminds me a lot of you Lindsay! She is really cute and really nice. :) And there is this other teacher in the TEC that we went to yesterday to practice door-knocking, and she reminded me of you so much, she was darling too. :) Her name was...mmm, don't remember.
Anyway, oh Rosanna, thank you SOOO much for the St. Patrick's day package! Yes, I got it, on that day (well, picked it up that day), and i LOVED it!! I especially loved the picture Megan drew of me with a sandwhich and swimming in a pool. It is priceless! And also thanks for the real green!!! You guys are my biggest fans right now--Kerrs still win! :)

Hello from the MTC
Hello family and friends!!
This is our first p-day here at the mtc, and it is great to have some free time to write letters, eat snacks, and entertain ourselves with taking light-saber pictures in our room with scripture highlighter sticks. :) The MTC has been great so far--the first 3-4 days were a little rough, and everyone told us to just make it til Sunday, and they were right! Sunday was very busy as well, but it was a nice breath of fresh air with more study time and not so much rushing here and there. My comp, Sis. Fuller, is from Preston, ID, and she's awesome! We are a lot alike and have had a lot of fun together so far. We share the room with Sis. Beck and Sis. Harker, who are both also really great, from Magna and Shelly, ID. We all get along really really well and have fun laughing chatting together. Sis. Fuller and I cracked up uncontrollably during our companionship prayer last night for the first time, it was pretty funny. It was actually because she was thanking Heavenly Father for our district (2 companionships of elders, and us 2 companionships of sisters, so 8 missionaries for all you math majors out there) elders, who are all really really great, really respectable, they treat us so so well, and are all very nice, very sincere boys with great testimonies. They're all a little different, but in the best way possible. :) They really are all great! We love them. But anyway, that's why we started laughing. And because we decided what they say about once you are a missionary you are retarded because everything that shouldn't normally be funny is, because that's all you've got. :)
So anyway, the food is great--I'm hooked and have no self control, or portion-control for that matter. My favorite is that they have cereal that you can have for any and every meal! It's awesome! Marshmallow Maties is a common side dish for me lately.
I'm actually the only sister in our room out of us 4 sisters, that is going to Nashville. The other 3 are going to Tulsa, Oklahoma. So at least we're all going to the south (we're sad that I will be split up from them in a couple weeks).
Before i run out of time on this computer (we only get 30 min and then get kicked off), I have to mention a few things:
First, I believe I have accurately come to the conclusion of who in our family loves me the most, based on the mail I have received. Mom and Dad love me most because they not only gave me letters the day I went in, but they actually came with me to the MTC; next, Rosanna clearly loves me the most, along with her children, Megan and Simon (Rachel too, she just can't draw me murals yet), as she was the first in the family I quite happily got mail from, and as of now I have actually received 2 letters from. Thank you Kerrs for remembering and loving me! And thank you Megan and Simon for your great artwork! I love your pictures! And Megan, I'm so proud of you for giving a talk in primary!! Your mom said you weren't even nervous!! Good job! Next, Camille loves me most as she wrote me pretty quickly as well, thank you Merkleys! As for my other siblings, I am keeping faith that you still remember I am in your family and you love me, in spite of (or is it despite of, Sally?) your lack of correspondence. But no worries, regardless of that, I am actually holding the lead for getting mail in my district--way to go family and friends! You are all the best--keep up the good work! :)
Second, to answer some questions (mostly mom's and rosanna's), yes, they still call those little orange stickers we wear on the first day "dork dots"--thank goodness we only have to wear them one day. Rosanna, I did get that battery watch fixed, or so I thought (maybe I already told you this story at home...), but then it died again in the same night. Bummer--so I didn't bring it. I was excited to hear the update on your guys' living room, I bet the crowning looks great! Keep me updated!
We do get to go outside, just mainly in between class and meals, and on our way home, etc. There are roofs over all the walkways, so if the sun is out and we are outside, we like to step out into it for a blissful moment on our way back to class and reminisce of the days when feeling the sun on your face was normal. The things you take for granted...:)
Mom, thanks for the copy of my call, and for the letters and for the temple thing. I really appreciate it. As for sending me clothes, I'll still let you know. Yeah, I just paid for the shot with the cash--if i gave them my insurance info would they cover it, cuz i can. Let me know asap.
Brittani and Cindy--thank you for the mail!!! I loved your letters and your updates! Keep them coming! And tell Jared thanks for his letter! His was the first one I got here, and tell him i'm totally going to beat his banana-eating record of 54 bananas in the mtc--i'm on 19 so far. :)

Melissa's very first letter!
Mom! 3/5/08
Don't worry, I am doing great! It's been a very long day & much effort has been spent on trying to stay awake today (kinda hard when we mostly just sat & listened to orientations all day...). But my comp is great - Sister Fuller from Preston, ID. We are alot alike--she likes cereal alot, loves volleyball, she can't walk straight either, she's been a RS Pres. in college (we didn't talk about that, she just mentioned it in something she was saying). She is super super nice & I am so thankful to be her companion.
So after I said goodbye to you guys we all went & stood in line to get our immunization records checked, where I was thrilled to discover my tetanus was expired. So happy were they to welcome me to the MTC by giving me a tetanus shot, & now I can continue to remember my first day here, as my left shoulder still hurts from it. I love this place! :)
But really, it's been fun. The other companionship that we are sharing the room w/ is really great too -- Sister Beck & Sister Harker. Sister Harker is a hoot, love her.
I love the MTC Pres., he's really funny. After we got immunizations, we got our luggage and had to stay in our rooms til the big meeting @ 4. Remember how the Pres. really stressed the importance of getting there 15 minutes early? Yeah, we 4 sisters in our room definitely got carried away chatting and laughing and unpacking in our room and arrived (after getting lost on our way, in our hurry) as the opening hymn was being sung. But don't worry, we are going to be better! Oh, and I'm the only one who wears a watch and can read the time, so the pressure is on me. My comp wears a watch, but it takes her a while to tell you what time it is, it's really funny. I don't really know why I told you the watch thing, it's really not significant...
Anyway, I better end this cuz it's morning and I need to get ready (I did go to sleep, don't worry, in fact, I got about 7 1/2 hours sleep!!! Can you imagine?! I feel amazing!! I love it here!)
